We just started using the bags around Christmas time and havn't stopped since. We love the roll because we're able to customize the bags to the food. If you buy food in bulk like we do from Sam's or Costco the Food Saver roll is just what the doctor ordered.
Description of FoodSaver T01-0029-01 8-Inch Roll, Single Pack
No matter what you're sealing, ground beef, strawberries, toiletries, or snack foods, you want to be sure the contents are securely sealed in the bag and that there is no interaction between the contents and the outside world. These strong bags when used with a Tilia vacuum sealer creates a leak proof environment.Compatible with FoodSaver brand and most other brands of vacuum packaging systems, this 8-inch-by-11-foot roll of plastic bagging material creates custom bags for storing average-sized perishable foods that may be oddly shaped (such as pork chops or wedges of cheese). When used with a sealing appliance, this heavy-duty nylon-reinforced wrap preserves food's flavor and freshness for up to five times longer than other storage methods. This is because the bags have channels that make air removal more efficient and a 5-ply construction that offers a better barrier against moisture and oxygen in either the refrigerator or freezer. The bags actually prevent freezer burn plus they are conveniently safe for boiling or the microwave to make reheating frozen home-cooked meals a cinch. Bags can be washed out by hand or in the dishwasher and reused as long as they have not previously stored raw meats, fish, or greasy foods that can pass along food-borne illnesses. --Cristina Vaamonde
